The Jonas Brothers
are hitting the football field with the Dallas Cowboys! The group is to
perform live at the team's Thanksgiving game to kick off the Salvation
Army's Red Kettle Campaign.
"I was born in Dallas, which makes performing with my brothers at the
Cowboys Halftime on Thanksgiving an incredible honor," said Nick Jonas.
The halftime show to launch the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign has
become an annual holiday tradition with a list of previous halftime
performers including: Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow and Destiny's Child.
"This year, more than ever, the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign will
make a huge impact for families at Christmas and throughout the year.
It's very important for us to give back," Kevin Jonas explained. "We'll remember this for a long time to come."
Watch the boys perform at the Cowboys' game on November 27 on Fox television.
Clean your air filter:
The Car Care Council of America says replacing a
dirty air filter with a clean one can increase gas mileage by 2 miles
per gallon. A dirty, clogged air filter makes a car's engine work
harder, decreasing fuel efficiency.

Ditch the roof rack:
According to Consumer Reports, carrying anything on
top of your car, including an empty roof rack, decreases gas mileage.
That's because at highway speeds, more than half of an engine's power
goes to overcoming aerodynamic drag. When Consumer Reports put a large
car-top carrier on a Camry, the car's gas mileage dropped from 35 mpg
to 29 at 65 miles per hour.

Use cruise control:
A recent study by Edmunds.com showed that regular
use of cruise control could save an average of 7 percent and as much 14
percent in gas costs.
While it's not realistic to drive 55 mph on Tennessee's 70 mph
highways, it is possible to raise your right foot just a little.
Edmunds.com showed an average savings of 12 percent for drivers who
dropped from 75 mph to 65 mph. And the savings could be even more
significant on a long trip.
Check that gas cap:
According to the Car Care Council, a loose gas cap
allows gas to evaporate, which can lead to losing two miles for every
gallon of gas. So after every fill up, be sure to give that cap one
final turn.

Avoid idling:
If you're going to be stopped for more than a minute, turn off the car.
Not idling can save as much as 19 percent, according to Edmunds.com,
which should be plenty of incentive to skip the drive-through lanes.
Just park it:
Park in the first space you see. Driving around
looking for a closer space wastes gas unnecessarily, so park as soon as
you find an open space.
Don't top off:
When you buy gas, don't top off. Adding a bit more
gas once the pump has stopped not only contributes to ozone pollution,
but also increases the risk of gas sloshing out, which is like throwing
money away.
Use air conditioning wisely:
Make the most of the air—and air conditioning.
While air-conditioning burns gas, many experts believe it's more fuel
efficient to use air conditioning at speeds over 45 mph compared to
keeping the windows rolled down, which causes wind drag. When driving
in stop-and-go traffic and at non-highway speeds, it’s more fuel
efficient to keep the windows open and let the breeze help keep you
cool.
Don't drive aggressively:
A gas conservation study conducted by Edmunds.com
found that you could save an average of 31 percent and as much as 37
percent by chilling out.
Accelerate slowly:
Gas is consumed more quickly during hard
acceleration, so you’ll improve your mileage by easing up to speed
rather than jamming the accelerator when a light turns green. And
conversely, let up on the gas a few blocks before you reach a red light
and it may be green by the time you get there.
Empty your trunk:
If your trunk is full of junk, clear it out. Extra weight in the trunk makes a car less fuel-efficient, especially on inclines.
Check tire pressure :
Proper tire inflation can increase fuel efficiency
by about 3% according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Check your
tires (or your owner’s manual) for the recommended tire pressure and
then use a gauge to hit that number. Conduct checks monthly, especially
in very hot or very cold weather.
Miley Cyrus Trying To Get Fired From Hannah Montana

Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus want off of Hannah Montana, according to TMZ. Straight from the source: Insiders revealed that Miley has
bragged that she will get fired, making it clear she wants to focus on
singing and not the show. For his part Billy Ray has also made it clear
that there is more money in singing than a Disney cable show. As a
result, the father daughter team has been showing up to the set
ridiculously late, stalling production and infuriating cast and crew.
Emily Osment, who plays Lilly Truscott, used to be
extremely tight with Miley. Now we’re told Emily is so bitter she
literally turns away from Miley after each scene. We’re told Emily’s
dad got in a screaming match with Billy Ray, complaining he and Miley
were unprofessional.
Billy Ray has told people on the set that he and Miley will
do twelve more episodes and then they are out. Disney was so pissed
they called his agent, railing that Billy Ray and Miley were ingrates.
Disney insisted that Billy Ray and Miley not only finish the
twenty-four episode season, but Disney was adding six more episodes.

ET has the latest...
Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM are expected to make a full recovery following the Learjet crash in South Carolina that critically injured both men and killed four others.
Dr. Fred Mullins,
medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta,
Georgia, said the two are being treated for second- and third-degree
burns but are otherwise healthy and therfore should make "a full
recovery."
Barker, 32, and 35-year-old DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein,
remain in critical but stable condition. "Since both Barker and
Goldstein are in overall good health and didn't suffer from any other
crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected," Mullins said.
Barker's ex Shanna Moakler rushed to his side following the crash, People
magazine reports. Barker's former mother-in-law, Gail Moakler, told the
magazine, "We're totally crushed," but Shanna rushed to be
with Barker after learning of the crash on Saturday morning.
Moakler,
whose daughter Shanna was married to Barker from 2004 until earlier
this year, said, "Our heart pours out. We're hoping he recovers. The
family is rallying around him and saying our prayers." Shanna, 33, a
former Playboy Playmate, has a daughter and a son with Barker.
In their personal blogs, Lindsay Lohan and best pal Samantha Ronson offered words of support for their friends. In a MySpace blog entry
with the heading "horrible news," Lohan says: "Please send your prayers
out to Adam Goldstein and Travis Barker - along with the others lost in
the plane crash. It's so scary to think that life can end so fast...we
must all treasure each and every moment - and be thankful for what we
have."
A spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety
Board said the plane, carrying six people, was departing Columbia
Metropolitan Airport shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic
controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane overran the runway and
crashed through antennas and a fence before coming to rest a
quarter-mile away and engulfing in flames.
